Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this Prada Re-Edition 2005 bag for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. Decided to make it my little project, you know?
First thing I did was to go to the official store. Wanted to see the real deal in person, feel the material, get a good look at the stitching, all that jazz. I spent a good amount of time in there, just examining the bag from every angle.
I made a list of what I observed in the official store:
- Checked out the zipper and the hardware. Noticed everything was the same color, no mix of silver and gold stuff.
- Looked closely at the triangle logo thingy and the other one inside.
- Felt the material and how it was all put together.
After I got home, I started looking for this bag online. I found some information about it being a remake of an older model, they call it a “Re-Edition”. I learned that it was inspired by some old designs from way back in the early 2000s. I even tried to find some pictures of those old bags, just to compare.
I tried to get my hands on the same kind of material they used. That was a bit tricky, but I managed to find something pretty close after visiting a few stores. Then, the real fun started. I spent days cutting, sewing, and basically trying to recreate the bag based on my notes and what I remembered from the store. It was a lot of trial and error, let me tell you. There were moments when I wanted to just throw everything out the window, but I kept at it.
Finally, after all that work, I had my own version of the Prada Re-Edition 2005. It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely not the same as the one in the store, but I’m pretty proud of it. I carried it around for a few days, and it actually felt pretty good. I even got a few compliments, which was a nice surprise! All in all, it was a fun little project, and I learned a lot along the way. Would I do it again? Maybe, but next time, I’ll probably start with an easier design!
