Okay, so I’ve been messing around with watches lately, and let me tell you, this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch thing, it’s a whole experience. I finally got my hands on the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire with the Cal.3861 movement. I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked.

First off, I had to make sure this thing was legit, even though it was a copy. I mean, it’s not the real deal, but you still want it to be good, right? And I made a list of what I absolutely needed: it had to be a Speedmaster Professional, with that Moonwatch history, and of course, the sapphire crystal. That was non-negotiable.

So, I went down to one of those fancy specialty stores. I talked to this guy there, he seemed to know his stuff, going on about the Caliber 3861 and all that. He gave me some tips on what to look for to make sure I wasn’t getting ripped off. Told me to check the fonts and logo on the dial. Said they should be “sharpish” – his words, not mine. Same deal with the dial markings. He even told me to look at the laser etching on the back of the case. Said that’s some kind of anti-counterfeiting thing. I guess that’s important, even on a copy.

He also mentioned the serial number. Apparently, a lot of the fake Omegas use the same serial number on a bunch of watches. So, if you look up the number and it comes back to a different watch, you know something’s up.

  • Checked the dial – fonts and logo looked pretty good, “sharpish” enough, I guess.
  • Dial markings seemed okay, too.
  • Took a peek at the back. The laser etching was there.
  • Looked up the serial number just to be safe. Seemed unique.

After all that, I decided to go for it. It felt good on my wrist. They say these Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch things, they hold their value even if it is a copy one. That means if you buy one, you can sell it later for a good price. Maybe even more than you paid for * knows, maybe the price of this thing will go up, up, up, just like the real ones. Anyway, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. It’s a nice-looking watch, and it’s got that whole Moonwatch vibe, even if it didn’t actually go to the moon.

But man, what a journey just to get a watch.
