Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001 for a while now. You know, the rose gold one with the diamonds around the dial? It’s a real beauty. But man, these things are pricey! I started doing some digging online to see what kind of prices I was looking at.

First, I just started looking at some listings. I saw some going for around $24,000, and some for a bit less, like around $20,000. That’s a huge chunk of change! But, it is a Patek Philippe. I found a few that were used but still in pretty good condition and the year of production was like 2020. I was like, hmm, maybe used is the way to go.

My Hunt for a Deal

I then checked out some places that offer authentic Patek Philippe watches at discounted prices, and where they take in trades. I didn’t have anything to trade in, but I thought maybe if I could find a good deal on a used one, I could make it work.

I read up on the specs of the watch, too. I mean if I am going to drop a lot of money, I should know what I am buying! I learned it’s got a 30 mm case size, 18k rose gold, and the manual wind movement, Caliber 215 PS with a small seconds subdial and 18 jewels. It’s a manual wind, which is kind of cool, and the reference number is 7041R-001, in case you want to look it up. And of course, it’s got those 108 diamonds around the dial totaling 0.31 carats. Very pretty!

Finally Decided

After a lot of searching and comparing, I decided to go for it.

  • First: Found a seller with one in very good condition and it even came with the original box and papers.
  • Second: Negotiated the price a little bit, felt like I got a decent deal considering what these usually go for.
  • Third: Pulled the trigger and bought it!

It was a bit of a splurge, but hey, you only live once, right? And this watch is just so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist. Plus, it’s a Patek Philippe, so it’s not just a watch, it’s an investment. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself! I am now the proud owner of a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001, and I couldn’t be happier.
