Okay, here is my story about remaking a PRADA Re-Edition 2005 bag:
So, I saw this PRADA Re-Edition 2005 bag the other day, and I was like, “I gotta have it.” But, you know, it’s PRADA, and my wallet was definitely not feeling that vibe. You see, celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid were rocking this bag, so I got really excited. I’ve always liked the look of this mini hobo bag. Then I thought, “What if I try to make one myself?” I mean, I’m pretty crafty, and I’ve got some time on my hands, so why not?
First things first, I started watching every single YouTube video I could find about making bags. I was looking at those videos where people are like, “Oh, it’s so easy,” and I was determined to do it myself, you know? I even went down to the fabric store and just wandered around, feeling all the different materials. I wanted something that looked like leather but wasn’t, ’cause I’m trying to save some cash here. I spent like an hour just touching stuff and probably looked like a total weirdo.

After I found the fabric I wanted, which was actually pretty cheap, I started cutting it out. I used some old cardboard to make a pattern. Let me tell you, cutting fabric is way harder than it looks. My lines were all over the place, but I just kept going. Next, I had to figure out the whole sewing thing. I borrowed my grandma’s old sewing machine, which is probably older than me. It took me a while to figure out how to thread the darn thing, but I got it eventually. Then, sewing this stuff, whoa. The machine was making all sorts of weird noises, and I broke like three needles. But I just kept at it, seam-ripping and re-sewing like a madwoman.
Putting it all together
The hardest part was probably the zipper. I’ve never put a zipper in anything before, and let’s just say it took a few tries. There were some tears, some yelling at the sewing machine, but I finally got it in there. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked. Then I had to figure out the strap and all the little details like the PRADA logo thingy. I ended up using some old jewelry findings and some fabric paint for that. It wasn’t an exact replica, but it had the same vibe, you know?
When I finally finished it, I was so proud of myself. It wasn’t perfect, but I made it with my own two hands. And you know what? I actually liked it better than the real thing because it was unique. I rocked that bag all over town, and people were actually asking me where I got it. I just smiled and said, “Oh, this old thing? I made it myself.”
