So, I wanted to get my hands on an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the transparent case back. Here’s how it went down.
First, I hit up the “Official OMEGA Website”, as they call it. This is their online store, and it’s got all the watches they sell. It’s pretty easy to use, you know, just browsing around.
I looked for the Speedmaster section. Found it! They had tons of those Speedmaster watches, including that Moonwatch Professional collection.
Browsed through all of them until I saw the one I wanted. You can see everything about these watches on there – the details, the pictures, all that stuff. They say them watches are “authentic and reliable”, or something like that.
- I found out that the new ones have this “sapphire-sandwich” thing. It’s basically a fancy way of saying you can see through the back of the watch to the insides. Looks pretty cool!
- The movement inside is called “caliber 3861”. They say it’s way better than the old ones.
- Also, I learned that they stopped making a smaller version of the Speedmaster in 2009, but they still sell other smaller Speedmaster watches now.
My Purchase
I went ahead and ordered it online right there on their website. I paid for it online and got a confirmation, just waiting for the delivery now.
While I was waiting, I did some more digging. People say these Speedmaster Professionals hold their value pretty well. I guess it’s good to know that if I ever want to sell it, I can probably get a good price for it. That’s what I heard, anyway.
Overall, it was a pretty smooth process. The website was easy to use, and I found the exact watch I wanted. Now, I’m just waiting for it to arrive! Can’t wait to wear it!
Oh, and by the way, I also saw these watches on some other website called Chrono24. They had some used ones for around $5,000, while the new ones from the official site are way more expensive.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in buying an OMEGA watch. Pretty straightforward, I’d say.
