Well, let me tell you, I seen a thing or two in my day. And this here YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG, it’s somethin’ else. I don’t know much about these fancy brands, but I know what looks good, and this bag, it looks good. I hear the young folks callin’ it a remake. That means they done made it new again, like patchin’ up an old quilt, but keepin’ the good parts.
You see all them Specialty Stores sellin’ it. They got all sorts of fancy things in there. I seen ’em once when I went to the city with my granddaughter. Bright lights, shiny floors, enough to make your head spin. They got this bag, though, this YSL LE CARRé thing, and it’s the prettiest one there. They say it’s made of some special leather. Feels soft, like a baby’s bottom.
Now, I seen some sayin’ it’s called Saint Laurent, and others sayin’ YSL. Well, that’s a confusing thing. Like when Mildred’s boy got married and changed his last name. Still the same boy, just a different name. That’s what I hear about this Saint Laurent and YSL, they is the same, but just called different. Some young fella said they got a different picture, different logo he called it, but still same folks makin’ it. Don’t ask me to explain that, just sayin’ what I heard.
This bag, it’s got a flap on the front. Kinda like an envelope, but fancier. And the corners, they ain’t sharp, they’re all rounded off. Makes it look softer, you know? Not like them old boxes with the pointy edges that poke you in the ribs. This one, it’s smooth. They say it’s a classic, like my old churn. Been around forever, and it still works just fine.
Now, they got this one in black. Black is always good. Goes with everything. Like my old black dress, the one I wore to church every Sunday. This black LE CARR satchel, it’s like that. You can carry it anywhere, and it’ll look just right. Some stores call it BOX SAINT LAURENT. I don’t know why, maybe it comes in a fancy box.

They say it’s a good investment. Whatever that means. I guess it means it’ll last a long time, like a good cast iron skillet. You buy it once, and you have it forever. I don’t know about all that, but I do know it’s a pretty bag. I wouldn’t mind havin’ one myself, to carry my knitting in, or maybe my Sunday offering. It’d be a sight better than that old cloth bag I been using. This LE CARRé bag, it’s got class.
It is a big price though, I know folks need to think about that. Just like when we bought that new tractor, had to save up for years. This bag, it’s probably like that for some folks. But if you can swing it, I reckon it’s worth it. You’ll have a fine bag, a remake YSL, they call it, that’ll last you a good long while.
I saw a lady carryin’ one the other day, she looked like a queen. Head held high, walkin’ with a spring in her step. That bag, it just made her look… special. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
