Alright, let me tell ya about this here watch, this Patek Philipper or somethin’ like that, the 5271/11p-010 platinum one. My grandson, he showed me a picture, shiny thing it was, looked like it could blind ya in the sun. Said it’s a fancy watch, real expensive.
Now, I don’t know much about these fancy watches, but I can tell ya, it’s got a whole lotta things goin’ on. It’s got the time, of course, but it’s also got this calendar thingy. Tells ya the day, the date, and even the month, I reckon. My grandson says it’s a “perpetual calendar,” whatever that means. Guess it knows when leap years are and all that fancy stuff.
- Shiny metal, grandson says it’s “platinum.” Sounds heavy.
- Lots of dials, tells more than just the time, I guess.
- Numbers and hands, real tiny, hard to see for my old eyes.
They say it’s a “chronograph” too. Sounds complicated. My grandson tried to explain, somethin’ about timing things, like cookin’ an egg maybe? I just use my kitchen timer, works just fine for me.
This watch, it’s got diamonds on it too, little shiny things all around. Reckon they make it sparkle. Fancy folks like sparkly things, I guess. Wouldn’t do much good for milkin’ cows, though. Get all dirty, and probably lose a diamond or two in the hay.
Now, I heard tell this watch costs a whole lotta money. Like, more money than I’ve seen in my whole life. Crazy, if you ask me. What good is a watch that costs that much? It won’t make your chickens lay more eggs, or your crops grow faster. Just tells the time, and does a bunch of other things you probably don’t need.
I got my old clock on the wall, been there for years. Keeps good time, and I can see the numbers real easy. That’s all I need. Don’t need no fancy platinum watch with diamonds and all that jazz.
But, I guess if you got the money to spare, and you like showin’ off, then this Patek Philipper thing might be for you. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you scratch it or lose it. Stick with a good ol’ reliable clock, that’s what I say.
My grandson, he keeps lookin’ at pictures of this watch, dreamin’ and all. I told him, “Boy, you better save your money for somethin’ practical, like a new tractor.” He just laughs, says I don’t understand. Maybe I don’t, but I know what’s important in life, and it ain’t some fancy watch.
Anyway, that’s all I got to say about this Patek Philipper 5271/11p-010 platinum watch. Fancy, expensive, and probably not worth the trouble. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old lady.
