Well, lookie here, you got yerself a fancy Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch, huh? Don’t know why you’d spend so much on somethin’ that just tells time, but hey, ain’t my money. You wanna know how to change the time on it? Alright, listen up, I’ll tell ya.
First off, find that little knob thingy on the side. They call it a crown, like a king wears, but it’s just a knob to me. You gotta pull that thing out. Not all the way, just a little bit. You’ll feel it click, like a door latch. That’s when you know you got it right.
- Pull the knob (crown) out a bit.
Now, you gotta turn that knob. Yeah, just twist it. Which way? Well, one way makes the hands go forward, the other way makes ’em go backward. You gotta figure that out yerself, I ain’t there to show ya.
Keep turnin’ till you get the right time. Don’t be rushin’ it, take yer time. You don’t wanna mess it up, especially with a watch that costs more than my whole chicken coop.
Once you got the time right, push that knob back in. Push it all the way, till you hear another click. That means it’s locked in place, and the time won’t change unless you pull it out again.
- Turn the knob to set the time.
- Push the knob back in.
Now, if your watch stopped workin’ altogether, it might need windin’ up. Yeah, these fancy watches ain’t like them battery ones. You gotta wind ’em up by turnin’ that knob, even when it’s pushed in. Turn it and turn it, a whole bunch of times, till it starts tickin’ again.
If it ain’t workin’, wind it up by turning the knob.
Some folks say you gotta turn it 30 times or somethin’, but I just turn it till it feels right. Like churnin’ butter, you know? You just know when it’s done.
They say these watches hold their value, people will pay good money for ’em later on. I don’t know about that, seems like a waste to me. But if you’re gonna spend all that money, you might as well know how to set the time right.
Oh, and somethin’ about batteries? I heard someone talkin’ about batteries in these watches. But I thought you had to wind ’em up. Maybe some are different. If it’s got a battery, you gotta take it to a watch feller to change it. Don’t try doin’ it yerself, you’ll just mess it up.
So there you have it, that’s how you change the time on yer fancy watch. Just pull, turn, push, and maybe wind. Simple as pie, if you know what you’re doin’.
And don’t lose that watch now, hear? Keep it safe. People might try to snatch it right off your wrist. Wouldn’t want that, would ya?
Alright, I’m done talkin’ about watches. Got chores to do. Hope you figured it out, and don’t come askin’ me again! I ain’t no watch expert, I just know the basics.
