Now, if your watch stopped workin’ altogether, it might need windin’ up. Yeah, these fancy watches ain’t like them battery ones. You gotta wind ’em up by turnin’ that knob, even when it’s pushed in. Turn it and turn it, a whole bunch of times, till it starts tickin’ again.
If it ain’t workin’, wind it up by turning the knob.
Some folks say you gotta turn it 30 times or somethin’, but I just turn it till it feels right. Like churnin’ butter, you know? You just know when it’s done.
They say these watches hold their value, people will pay good money for ’em later on. I don’t know about that, seems like a waste to me. But if you’re gonna spend all that money, you might as well know how to set the time right.
Oh, and somethin’ about batteries? I heard someone talkin’ about batteries in these watches. But I thought you had to wind ’em up. Maybe some are different. If it’s got a battery, you gotta take it to a watch feller to change it. Don’t try doin’ it yerself, you’ll just mess it up.
