Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about them fancy watches, the ones they call Audemars Piguet. People keep talkin’ about ’em on that Reddit thing, ya know, the kong price increase and all that. I don’t really get it, all this talk about money and watches, but I’ll tell ya what I heard.
See, these watches, they ain’t cheap, no sirree. They say some of ’em cost more than a whole house! Can you believe that? Who in their right mind would spend that much on somethin’ you just wear on your wrist? But I guess some folks got more money than sense.
They say the prices keep goin’ up and up, like a balloon in the sky. I remember when you could buy somethin’ decent for a few dollars, but now they talkin’ about thousands, even hundreds of thousands! It’s crazy, I tell ya. And this “market” thing, where they sell these watches, apparently it’s full of ’em. Too many, they say. So the prices might come down a bit, but don’t hold your breath. They’ll still be expensive as all get-out.
- What’s all this fuss about “gray dealers”? Well, from what I gather, they’re fellas who sell these watches but ain’t official stores. They charge extra, see? Like they’re doin’ you a favor or somethin’. And some folks are so desperate to get their hands on one of these fancy watches, they’ll pay whatever it takes.
- And what’s this about sendin’ your wife to please the “AD”? Now, that’s just plain wrong. Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me. Who’d stoop so low just to buy a watch? But I guess some people are really obsessed with these things.
I heard someone say you can get a “cheap” Audemars Piguet for around 17,000 dollars. Cheap? Seventeen thousand dollars for somethin’ “cheap”? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life! And that ain’t even the expensive ones. They go up to hundreds of thousands, they say. Mind-boggling, really.
Apparently, Audemars Piguet, they don’t make too many of these watches each year. Forty thousand, someone said. Sounds like a lot to me, but I guess for them fancy folks, it ain’t enough. And they say some of these watches, they get more valuable over time. Like a good piece of land, I suppose. But who knows? It’s all just speculation, if you ask me.
You know, back in my day, a watch was just a watch. Somethin’ to tell the time. We didn’t have all this fuss and bother about brands and prices. If it worked, it was good enough. But I guess times have changed. People got more money to spend, and they wanna show off, I suppose.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about buyin’ one of them Audemars Piguet watches, you better have deep pockets. And don’t get caught up in all the hype. It’s just a watch, at the end of the day. Ain’t gonna make you a better person, that’s for sure. You’d be better off spendin’ your money on somethin’ useful, like a good pair of shoes or a warm coat. But hey, it’s your money, you can do what you want with it.
Anyway, that’s all I know about these fancy watches. Maybe you can make sense of it all, but it’s just too complicated for an old gal like me. I’ll stick to my old clock on the wall, thank you very much. It tells the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
