Ya know, that fancy watch brand, Audemars Piguet, they got a story, I hear. Started way back, by two fellas, Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet. Friends, they were, since they was kids. Wanted to make watches, real precise ones. This was in 1875, long time ago.
They set up shop in some valley, Le Brassus, Switzerland, they say. Pretty place, mountains and all. Made them watches right there. Real fancy watches, I reckon, for rich folks. Took ‘em a bit, but in 1881, they made it official, Audemars Piguet & Cie, they called it.
Them watches, they ain’t just watches, see. They’re like… masterpieces, someone told me. Real special. They got this pocket watch, Universelle, made it in 1899. Famous, I guess. Kept makin’ fancy watches, year after year.
- They built a big place, Manufacture des Forges, in 2008. Lotta folks workin’ there, makin’ them watches.
Now, they got offices everywhere, even China! Heard they got this edition office bag too, for the China folks. Don’t know nothin’ about no price, though, or that Tsuen Wan place. Just know them watches is expensive. Real expensive.
Folks say them watches, they keep their value. Means you can sell ’em later, for a lotta money. But I dunno, sounds like a gamble to me. Gotta take care of it, sell it at the right time. Too much trouble, if you ask me.
Anyways, that’s the story. Started with two friends, makin’ watches in a valley. Now it’s a big fancy brand, Audemars Piguet. Makes ya think, don’t it? Two fellas with a dream, and look what happened.
But all them fancy watches, they ain’t for folks like me. Just tellin’ ya what I heard. The history, like. Audemars Piguet. Remember that name, if you ever win the lottery!
